Yanis
We spied her amongst the row, Full-clothed with a flower in her hair, Waving a golden diadem of intricate design, Humming a tune in the midst of wild company
I nudged my friend- But he said not a word, The wind took handfuls of his hair, Dreams stood tall upon his mind; So he stared.
No greater beauty my eyes have seen, Not even amongst the lands of kings and queens, And to sing in tune as lovely as this, Is truly a spectacular gift.
She took her cue from the tranquil day, Cast off her clothes and straight-away Withdrew herself to a flowing stream, And all the while still continued to sing.
I felt a tinge of fear and soon regret, And I wiped away a red droplet- That ran from my chest in flowing form, Out of the wound from a blade still warm
We spied her amongst the row, Full-clothed with a flower in her hair, I nudged my friend but he said not a word, The wind took handfuls of his hair as he stared;
