Reflections of a Dying AIDS Patient

I had one life to live ,
Now-
I am the sad owner of one life wasted,
The master of mistakes and ironies,
The connoisseur of the unfixable misdeed,
And now the slave of this incurable disease.

I am permanently chained ,
To my own post of punishment,
Receiving for my sins,
Past and present,
Weighted on already burdened shoulders,
This weight pressing me towards an end,
To the earth from whence I came,
An end arriving too soon.
My end.
